Our Company
HansWurst was an idea, which came into our minds on a lazy sunny Sunday afternoon in 2007; sitting in the Tyne Bar, listening to live music and drinking German wheat beer.
"Oh how great it would be to have a Bratwurst or even Currywurst right now, especially the ones from my uncle", I heard myself say. Suddenly the live music faded into the background and a lively conversation about our love for food and its pleasures was started. You probably can't buy love, but you can purchase pleasure; the pleasure of food. This might be true in theory, but would it be possible to bring the German sausages we miss to the people and the place we love? Why not?
Luxury is a liberty of choice and at that moment a Bratwurst in warm crusty roll would have been a luxury to us, but we did not have the choice. So let's change that!
A couple of months later HansWurst Limited was founded ...

Our Suppliers
The family butchery Oelerich has been trading since the 18th century and five generations later is still growing strong. Located in Ochtrup, a town in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia the family-run business has constantly invested in cutting edge technology to produce only the best quality of meat and sausages, whilst not neglecting their traditional and ethical values. The EU certification of the business (EV-No.: 1517) guarantees that the traditions of the German butchery are maintained through a modern and active quality management system. The meat used in the production has its origin in the EC, but is mainly from regional suppliers, so it can always be traced back. We are proud to work with the family Oelerich. Not only their very tasty sausages, but their flexibility and support make them a strong partner for our HansWurst philosophy.
